The Thousand Island paddling trails have nine defined routes. Since the routes overlap and can generally be paddled in both directions, there are thousands of variations that can take a paddler through various areas of the region.
There are several places to launch from, and then the water is yours to explore. Many areas offer canoe launches, camping, parking, picnic areas and washrooms. On a nice day in the summer, some areas may be crowded, but there are enough options within the Thousand Islands that some peace and quiet is sure to be found after a short paddle away from the masses.
Amenities: Launching ramps, docks, parking.
How to get there: From Hwy 401, take exit 617 for Division Street. Go south on Division Street. Turn left onto John Counter Blvd, then take the 3rd right onto Montreal Street. Turn left onto Rideau Street, then left on Cataraqui St, and a good starting place for your paddling journey will be on the left.
