Sandbanks Summer Village aims to offer a new type of cottage community

Sandbanks Summer Village

Cottage Advisors Canada is building a new type of cottage community in Canada. Howard Hall started Cottage Advisors in the US, building cottage communities in Maine and Massachusetts. Howard and his team took the lessons learned from their work in creating cottage communities in the US and launched their plans in Canada.

His fishing friends in Canada urged him to consider some areas in Canada for his cottage resort communities. In 2008, he founded Cottage Advisors of Canada with one of his fishing partners, Jim Lawley, director of Killam Properties and the force behind the recently constructed Marriott in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The men found the ideal location in Prince Edward County. “The area is posed to become the next great location for summer vacations,” says Hall. “It has it all: beautiful beaches, amazing culture and real estate prices that allow people to not only get the dream cottage but to invest in a market that will only appreciate over time.”

Cottage Advisors of Canada guides the creation of classic recreational cottage communities in special locations throughout the country. The company works with local development teams to ensure that every community reflects the architectural heritage and cottage traditions of the area in which it is located.

Unlike traditional cottages, Cottage Advisors Canada develops a community. Amenities like infinity pools, adults-only fitness centres, restaurants, and marketplaces, along with playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts, community events, child-care services, and property maintenance and rental services.

“Our childhood memories of cottages are of the great times we had with friends playing outside,” says Hall. “We create communities where that can happen for the next generation of children. We also ensure that we have amenities for parents to enjoy themselves.”

Sandbanks Summer Village is a three-season cottage vacation community on the shores of East Lake in picturesque Prince Edward County, Ontario. From April through October, owners spend carefree days enjoying life while the management staff handles the details. On-site amenities and activities and vibrant Prince Edward County offer a full menu of fun for all ages.
