Plan a trip to Buttermilk Falls

Buttermilk Falls is a quiet falls on the Kennisis River. The river was once a route for logs going to the mill, and this can be seen in the concrete sluiceway that is still a part of these falls. The falls are only a five-minute walk from parking, but a trail follows the river from Halls Lake to Boshkung Lake for a longer, scenic hike.

To find these falls, start in Carnarvon and take Hwy 35 north about 8km. There should be a sign for Buttermilk Falls (this also refers to the town of Buttermilk Falls). Parking and washrooms are available.

Nearby: The falls are located between Haliburton, Dorset, and Minden.
