Waterskiing is so easy even a baby could do it? Apparently.
A video showing six-month-old Rich Humpherys waterskiing for the first time has gone viral. And for good reason: it’s a new world record!

Yup, that’s right. “6 months 4 days!” captioned dad Casey (@caseyhumpherys) on Instagram. “Take one look at this kid and tell me he isn’t having the time of his life! Such a little stud! #worldrecord.”
The video, filmed at Lake Powell, Utah, shows Casey supervising baby Rich on his first trip out on the water—PFD and custom ski set that was built by the family included. Of course, even though little Rich is clearly having a good time, safety is still the number one priority. What you don’t see in the video is Rich taking swimming lessons and practicing on land before the big day. He was also closely supervised by his dad and another boat on the water, and the boat that was towing him was only traveling about 8 km/h.
At six months and four days, Rich beat the existing record for youngest waterskier, which has been held by Zyla St. Onge since 2016.
But real question is: can the Humpherys family build a set of handlebars to help us too?
