Clean Wake encourages boaters to trade in two-strokes

Summerhill Impact, a non-profit environmental organization, has partnered with Honda Canada to launch Clean Wake, a campaign that encourages boaters in Ontario to trade in their inefficient two-stroke outboard engines for four-stroke outboards.

Until May 31, 2013, Ontario Honda Marine dealers will be offering a 10% discount towards the purchase of a new Honda four-stroke engine with the return of an old two-stroke engine.

Four-stroke engines are claimed to be 90% cleaner, 50% more fuel efficient, and 50% quieter. “More and more people are replacing their old, inefficient boat motors with best-in-class motors,” says Corey Diamond, managing director of Summerhill Impact. “We’re thrilled that Honda has shown leadership to help us all protect the waterways we love so much.”
