Could there be an event more suited to cottagers? The Brew-Ha-Ha, happening in Parry Sound this weekend, is a fundraising event full of beer and laughter, all in the name of preserving the environment.
Presented by the Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve, the Brew-Ha-Ha will offer guests samples of a variety of beers brewed by Ontario craft breweries (including Steam Whistle Brewing, Muskoka Brewery, Lake of Bays and more), which guests can enjoy alongside a light dinner as well as live performances and a silent auction. The evening’s entertainment will include Parry Sound-born comedian Steven Morel and music by Big Bag Wolf jazz and blues, Mackenzie Richie and Craig Harley.
All proceeds from the night will support the education, conservation and community programs of the Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve. This includes things like creating opportunities for local teachers and students to explore their surrounding nature, reports on the health of eastern Georgian Bay, and programs designed to help home and cottage owners interested in decreasing their ecological footprint through simple changes, among others.
