Three longstanding Monopoly tokens won’t be passing Go in future games.

The boot, the wheel barrow, and the thimble have been replaced by a Tyrannosaurus rex, a penguin, and a rubber ducky.

The switch was announced on Friday after a reported 4.3 million voters, from 146 different countries, weighed in on which tokens they hoped to see in future games of Monopoly.

The T-rex, rubber ducky, and penguin beat out 61 other options, which included a winking emoji, a hashtag, and an 80s-style cellphone.

“While I’m sad to see the iconic thimble, boot, and wheelbarrow tokens go, it will be fun to have some new, fan-sourced tokens in the mix,” Jonathan Berkowitz, Hasbro’s senior vice president of marketing, told reporters.

“Personally, I’ve always especially liked the boot token, but I’m excited to move onto the T-rex,” he said.

The thimble and boot have been part of the board game since it was first produced in 1935, while the wheelbarrow was added in the 1950s. Decades later, with an estimated one billion boards sold, the battleship and top hat are the only original pieces to survive.

We’re just happy to see that the Scottie dog will be sticking around.
