Canada Day playlist for the cottage

Here at Cottage Life HQ nothing stirs a great debate like the topic of music. Tastes in the office vary from 1960s folk rock to new-age indie and everything in between. When the idea of putting together a playlist of “cottage music” came up, it quickly evolved into a passionate discussion about what exactly defined cottage music.

Are some songs just too cliché to be on the list (“…’cause it was in Bobcaygeooonnn”)? And don’t even get us started on what the appropriate volume level should be at the cottage. But despite our varied acoustic appetites, I’m happy to report we’re all back to being our office-friendly selves, though I swear some of us are holding our iPods just a little bit closer these days.

With Canada Day approaching, we managed to agree on a list of exclusively Canadian artists to celebrate our country, and there were more than enough great artists to choose from! Check out our list below for a little inspiration on what to listen to on the dock this long weekend.
