Give your mantel a shiny, colourful transformation with some garland made from Christmas balls. Simply string your chosen ornaments along ribbon and place on top of the mantle. The best part? You can easily coordinate all of your Christmas decorations by choosing similarly coloured balls for the tree, too.

If your fireplace is purely aesthetic, you can still make it cozy. Simply place a few logs inside with a touch of twinkle lights. Add greenery to the top of the mantle for a festive finishing touch.

This year, try hanging your wreaths above the fireplace for a more whimsical focal point. For added texture, use a mixture of wreaths made from greenery and twigs.

Here’s an easy and inexpensive way to decorate your mantel for the holidays. Simply wrap a variety of boxes in your favourite gift wrap, or colour-coordinate with the rest of your décor, then arrange them on the top of your mantle.

Give your fireplace a rustic touch by lining your mantel with fallen pinecones. Leave as is or spray with white paint for a touch of “snow.”

If you’re lucky enough to have a big fireplace, consider flanking it with a couple fresh trees. Add a series of logs and birch bark candles to create levels.

Placing bunches of candles atop the mantel or around the fireplace can add a warm, glowing aesthetic without having to light the fireplace. You can add a festive touch by incorporating some greenery.

This fireplace incorporates tons of the outdoors, but the word “Joy” placed above the mantle gives it a modern twist. Choosing a word or phrase to highlight above the fireplace adds an element of interest and charm to your display.
