This adorable tiny house is big on comfort

For nine years, engineer-cum-carpenter Abel Zimmerman Zyl has been building small houses under his business moniker, Zyl Vardos. Many of Zyl Vardos’ creations are whimsical gems with curved roofs and cantilevering rooms, clad in slanted shingles, or shaped like a fortune cookie.

This house, which Zyl has called the Music Box, is simpler in design but still has plenty of style. Made of only sustainable materials, the house is covered in shingles and features cozy touches like hardwood flooring and stained glass windows. Although the off-grid retreat is only 24-feet long by 8.5-feet wide, Zyl managed to outfit the house with a spacious bathroom complete with a big bathtub.
