Is there an organization in Quebec that is comparable to the Federation of Ontario Cottagers’ Associations?
Malheureusement, non—but there are dozens of individual cottagers’ associations and a couple of organizations that take on some of the information-sharing and leadership tasks that FOCA does so well. RAPPEL, Regroupement des Associations Pour la Protection de l’Environnement des Lacs is a regional water-protection agency in the Eastern Townships. And ROBVQ, Regroupement des Organisations de Bassin Versant du Québec, is a political organization that represents regional watershed committees in their dealings with the provincial government. Individual cottagers’ associations are often represented on these watershed committees, so are indirectly connected to ROBVQ.
