This bright blue, double-decker bus from the 1980s has been renovated into a cosy retreat. On the bottom level of the bus, there’s a full kitchen and living area-cum-dining room, and on the upper floor, there are three bedrooms. With separate washroom and shower facilities, an on-board flatscreen TV, plus a nearby hot tub, the owners of Betsy describe a stay as “luxury glamping.” And since the bus is located on nearly an acre of land with a block of stables, horses are welcome to join their human companions on vacation, too.

The bus is parked permanently on the English countryside near the small village of Ryton. The bright blue paint job is totally charming and thanks to all the tour bus windows, there’s plenty of natural light once you’re inside.

From the outside, Betsy Blue still resembles her former life as a tour bus. We love how the owners decided to keep the route number, windshield wipers, headlights and steering wheel all in tact. Two hanging pots on either side of the front window makes the bus look especially cosy.

Inside, the owners completely transformed the bus. They added tile flooring, covered the walls in grooved wood panelling, and painted the ceiling a creamy white. In the kitchen, there’s a sink, full stove, and fridge with a small freezer. The counters are topped with hardworking butcher block, while comfy banquette seating surrounds a narrow dining table. Little touches like a striped rug and pillows give the space a homey feel.

In the living area/kitchen/dining room, there’s a flatscreen TV mounted on a wall and a quaint stove that heats the space in the colder months.

Here’s a look into one of the three bedrooms on the second floor. This one has twin-sized bunk beds, so it’s perfect for kids.

This bedroom has lots of blue accents via the floral curtains, tiny lampshade, and turquoise throw pillow. Although the space is narrow, the owners managed to squeeze in a bedside table.

Guests can store their suitcases and other personal belongings underneath this raised double bed. The hot tub and gorgeous property can be seen from the window.
