A 1940s fishing cabin gets a new life as a quaint beachside cottage

When these homeowners saw an old fishing cabin on Camano Island in Washington’s Puget Sound, they saw lots of potential in the compact space. They decided to convert the 1940s cabin into a charming 355-square-foot beach cottage with a full kitchen, open-concept bedroom, and a spacious bathroom.

To take advantage of its gorgeous location, there are three sets of glass garden doors that open onto a huge patio. Off the wooden patio, past the lush grass lawn, there’s a fire pit for late night get-togethers and an elevated sun deck for sun bathing. As if this place couldn’t be any dreamier, it’s just one hour away from Seattle. Talk about the perfect place for weekends away.
