Tired of building snowmen? Try making one of these Swedish snow lanterns instead

Snölykta

The Swedes certainly know how to make winter beautiful! To celebrate the season, they build snölykta, hollow snowball pyramids lit from within by candles or LED lights.

According to Daniel Troger, who created this video, children in Sweden learn how to build these structures at a young age, much like how North American children learn how to build snowmen.

The snölykta in this video, however, is much bigger than one a young child might make. Troger and his father tried “to build a larger one than we did when I was a child,” and they certainly succeeded!

What do you think, should snölykta make the jump to Canada?
