This sauna houseboat may be the perfect invention for the lake

A whimsical houseboat called the Saunalautta cuts out all the frills so that passengers can focus on the main priority: a full-functioning sauna.

Why a sauna? In a cold country like Finland, where this incredible boat was brought to life, the sauna is a big part of the winter months, so it was only a matter of time before one took to the water.

While the boat was originally built by a group of friends on a lark, if you do find yourself in Finland during the summer months, it is now available for rent.

Mainly built from recycled wood, the craft includes all the features you could want for a relaxing time: hammocks, a barbecue, and of course, the sauna. A small outboard motor propels the boat, so don’t expect to get anywhere to quickly. But then again, you’ll probably be too busy relaxing.

You can find out more about the Saunalautta by checking out their official Facebook page.
