This firefly time-lapse video will take your breath away

A still summer night, the darkness dotted with pinpricks of light from myriad fireflies flitting in and out of the brush. Is there anything more beautiful?

Photographer Vincent Brady thinks so, and has created a gorgeous time-lapse YouTube video of the phosphorescent insects filmed in the forests of Michigan and Missouri.

The beautiful, screen saver-like effect is created by a technique called image stacking, and is the product of footage shot in the summer of 2013.

You can find more of Vincent’s work, as well as more images from the firefly project on his website.
