There are many ways to identify an animal: by sight, by its call, or by its footprints. But frankly, we’re not impressed until you can identify an animal by its poop. Yes, animal scat is wide and varied, a testament to the diversity of the natural world. And as a cottager, it can benefit you to know how to tell deer droppings from porcupine poop. One is a clear sign that you should walk with caution. So this isn’t just an exercise in vulgarity—it’s an important test of safety knowledge!

Go ahead and wow us with your excrement expertise, your dung discernment, your scat scholarship—if you can!
