Cross-country ski at Algonquin Provincial Park

With three trail networks specifically designed for cross-country skiing, Algonquin Provincial Park is the ideal place to hit the trails. The Fen Lake Ski Trail is located at the park’s West Gate and travels through the hardwood forest typical of Algonquin’s western portion. Further west, The Leaf Lake Ski Trail system provides some of the most beautiful vistas and exhilarating skiing available in the park. Both of these trail networks are regularly groomed, offer routes of various distances—from 1 km to 30 km—and include both easier and challenging sections. For the backcountry skier, there’s Algonquin’s Minnesing Wilderness Ski Trail, which is left ungroomed and requires specific equipment for skiing deep snow.

Amenities: Shelter and washrooms are available at various locations along the trail system.
