Hoping to try something new this summer? What about learning to skate? It may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of summer in Muskoka, but at the end of August, cottager and world-renowned skating coach Brian Orser will offer a skating school.

Along with having a decorated skating career of his own, Orser has coached top names in the figure skating world, including 2010 Olympic-winner Kim Yu-Na of South Korea and two-time world junior champ Adam Rippon of the United States.

Brought to you by the Brian Orser Foundation and the Port Carling Figure Skating Club, the skating school will begin on Monday August 27th, and the week will end with a fundraising Gala Skating Show On Saturday that features World Champions.

“This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for cottagers to be able to enjoy the talent of high profile and World Class skaters in cottage country in a casual afternoon performance,” says Laurie Campbell, president of the Port Carling Figure Skating Club.
