WaterBed easily changes from land-based trailer to cool houseboat 


The WaterBed is the ultimate way to explore the picturesque canals of Amsterdam, float along the expansive pond in Central Park, or even fish in the rivers of Ontario’s cottage country. 


To keep the WaterBed lightweight, the boat is made out of plywood. Weighing in at 150-pounds, the boat is small enough for a single person to maneuver it, while hefty enough that you don’t need to worry about it capsizing. That said, if you’re heading on a hilly journey, we suggest an electric bike for easier towing.

Inside the WaterBed, the boat has a small bed with cushions for lounging. A tiny table pulls out from the wall – the perfect size for a cup of coffee or glass of wine.

The boat is semi-enclosed with multiple windows. Canvas awnings provide shade and curtains can be pulled down for extra privacy.

Currently, the WaterBed is in the prototype stage. For the next version, we’d love to see the addition of oars for better control navigating in rockier waters. Or for an even grander design, we’d love it if the back wheels could be motorized for an even more relaxing cruise. No manual labour necessary!
