Quiz: Do you know the official bird of every province and territory?

The common loon

Each province has a unique identity, and there are plenty of ways we show those identities: license plates, flags, trees, mottos, and crests. In fact, many of the provinces and territories even have a provincial mineral! (Ontario’s is amethyst.)

But while we’re not mean enough to test you on official minerals, we are going to ask you to identify provincial symbols you’re a little more likely to know about: birds. Each province is represented by one bird, which acts as an emblem of province’s character and natural setting. So even if you haven’t got all the provincial birds memorized (sacrilege!), with a good understanding of the provinces, you can probably guess at least a few. See if you can get them owl! If not, things might get hawkward. (Sorry.)
