Peterborough County OPP are still looking for a PWC and trailer that were stolen in Selwyn Township.

A Selwyn resident called the OPP in the early morning on July 20 to report that their $6,000 boat and the trailer it was affixed to were stolen overnight. The stolen PWC is a 2000 model with a red body, ‘Bombardier 36E4432’ written on the side, and ‘GTX Sea Doo’ written in front of the steering handle. According to Peterborough OPP Const. Daniel Gay, it was locked to a silver 2023 trailer with ‘Triton Trailers 9605’ written on the side, and it has the license plate ‘X90672’.

“It looks like it was pretty much dragged off the property” across a neighbour’s lawn, Gay says. “Even with a lock on a trailer it still doesn’t prevent the wheels from being able to turn. That allows someone to move the trailer itself.”

Officers responded to the call within a few hours. They’re not currently investigating how the trailer was dragged away, and they don’t know whether more than one person was involved in the theft. To provide tips or leads, the OPP urges the public to call Peterborough OPP’s non-emergency line (705-742-040) or Crime Stoppers (888-310-1122).
