Cottagers are no strangers to meeting animals on the road, but it’s not likely many have had an encounter like a woman in Florida recently did.
While the woman was driving her SUV along Florida’s turnpike last Thursday, she crossed paths with an owl. She was sure it had become roadkill, and the next morning, when she saw a couple pointing toward the grille of her SUV, she didn’t want to look.
But the bird didn’t die. Instead, it ended up inside the grille, surviving the more than 200 kilometre trip from Yeehaw Junction to Plantation.
