Llama on the loose is the talk of Sudbury

We’re all used to seeing skittering deer and stoic moose during our drives through the Canadian countryside, but how many of us can say they’ve come face to bumper with a llama in city traffic?

That’s exactly what happened this afternoon in Sudbury, Ont., when Facebook user Candie Cane encountered a rebellious camelid running free on Regional Road 24 beside an Esso Station. Hoping to hunt down the owner, she snapped a cell phone pic of the llama drama and posted it on Facebook. The post took off within the community, and several people identified the rogue llama as “Sylvie.”

Sylvie has now been returned home, but not before mugging for one of the weirdest photos we’ve seen from northern Ontario.
