Incredibly cute photos of children indulging in ice cream

Did you know the largest ice cream sundae in the world was made in Edmonton, Alberta?

It weighed 24.91 tonnes (54,917 lb) and was created by Palm Dairies Ltd. in Edmonton, Alberta, on July 24, 1988, according to Guinness World Records. That’s a lot of ice cream.

With that in mind, it doesn’t really come as a surprise that the per capita consumption of regular ice cream in the U.S. in 2018 was 11.8 pounds. Mind you this was down from 2000 when the average American was consuming a whopping 16.1 pounds.

This being said, when summertime rolls around cottagers are always ready to reach for a cone on a hot summer day. As you can see from our incredibly cute gallery of photos submitted by Cottage Life readers, there’s nothing but pure bliss on a child’s face when they take that first lick.
