Sauna Camp

Founded by a family of Canadian sisters, cousins, and nieces, Sauna Camp is a line of scented, all-natural body scrubs inspired by their Georgian Bay camp. I had a hard time deciding which of their five vegan scrubs to pick—they all smelled so good. I settled on Relax (made with lavender and shea butter), Repair (wild sumac berry and vanilla), and Rekindle (cocoa, rose petal, and cardamon). Bonus: each scrub comes with a tailored cocktail recipe.

Deck Chair Booster Seat, Adair Designs

Okay, I’ll say it: not everyone loves sitting in a Muskoka chair. Or, to clarify, rising from a deck chair. The Deck Chair Booster seat, made in Stratford, Ont., solves that awkward problem, allowing for “easier access into and out of deep-seated deck chairs.” Port Albert, Ont., cottager and woodworker Tim Adair designed the booster, made from high-density polyethylene, after hosting a pal who had recently undergone knee surgery and was having trouble rising from her perch. Deck chair comfort for all!

Red Lion Woodworking

Retired history teacher Chris Whitman runs Red Lion Woodworking out of Nobleton, Ont., creating wooden flags out of reclaimed wood. He told me—no surprise—that there has been a strong run on his elegant Canadian flags lately, but I was also impressed by the detailed workmanship on his other products, including the green-and-white “gin pennants,” initially flown by sailors to indicate they were open to entertaining other boaters on their vessels.

LI/NE

LI/NE is a Toronto-based, woman-owned company that upcycles used sails into one-of-a-kind handbags, duffels, and totes. Because they are made of sails, they are water-resistant and durable, making them ideal for cottagers who are hauling stuff around the lake in the boat. Plus, love that neon!
