A former professional service dog has found his true calling: as a greeter at the Fairmont Empress in Victoria, B.C.

Winston, a Labrador and retriever mix puppy, was trained to become a guide dog with the Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind in Ontario. However, Winston proved too friendly for the job, and instead started working at the Fairmont last week, where he’s been well received amongst guests and staff alike.

There are several dogs employed at various Fairmont hotels in British Columbia. Canada-wide, multiple Fairmont locations are pet-friendly. For rates ranging from $25 to $50, your canine pal can tag along on your trip, where they provide amenities such as a pet bowl and a welcome treat.
