Good news for donut lovers out there; Canada’s favourite coffee chain, Tim Hortons, has brought back its Duelling Donuts contest.

The create-your-own donut contest will award one fan $10,000 cash and their creation will be added to the Tim Hortons menu later this year. Imagine driving to the cottage and stopping at Tim Horton’s to order a coffee and your own custom creation?

Now through August 1, donut fans can design and submit their online creations at Duellingdonuts.ca, where Tim Hortons has encouraged a few new ingredients (basil, gravy, sweet potato, nacho cheese, and even avocado, to name a few) and weekly design themes.

Looking back at last year’s contest debut, which brought in 63,000 submissions from across the country, the marketing team at Tim Hortons has decided to make this year bigger and better. For the contest’s second year, the coffee shop will select eight finalists to be flown to Tim Hortons’ head office in Oakville, Ontario. There, they will show off their donut in a reality TV experience hosted by Jason Priestly. After facing a panel of Canadian celebrities—including singer Jann Arden, and television personalities Ben Mulroney and Anna Olson—four submissions will be left to be judged by the Canadian public. In mid-August, Tim Hortons will “open up the polls,” asking customers and fellow Canadians to vote and crown the grand prize winner.

The winning donut last year was a chocolate, caramel, and pecan creation called a “Tortoise Torte.”
