As host of Rick Mercer Report, the hugely popular satirical show on Canadian current affairs, Rick Mercer has interviewed everyone from Rush frontman Geddy Lee to former Prime Minister Stephen Harper. But he spends an equal amount of time visiting Canadian communities to find out what everyday Canadians think about our country’s issues, and to engage in beloved national pastimes and events, which recently led Mercer to the Fall Cottage Life Show. While there, he played with power tools and learned about all the little things that come with owning your own little cabin in the woods—including composting toilets.
