Snowshoe at Johnston’s Cranberry Marsh

Located in Bala, Johnston’s Cranberry Marsh is a year-round attraction with trails, tours, and activities for kids. During the winter, the Marsh’s two snowshoeing trails are open to visitors free of charge.  The Old Marsh Trail is a 1 km loop with educational stations, activities for kids, and two geocaching locations. For a more ambitious snowshoe trail, try the Little Orville Lake Trail, a 2.5 km loop with ecological information along the way to educate visitors about the local environment. How to get there: Take ON-400 north and get off at exit #177 (Muskoka Road 38) to Bala. Turn left onto Hwy 169. Past the town , turn left on Medora Lake Road and then left on Cranberry Road.
