Weekly Hack: No ruler, no problem

By Zephyr_p/Shutterstock

Calculating dimensions? Sure, sometimes you have a tape measure at hand, or your iPhone ruler app fired up and ready to go. But sometimes you don’t. In a pinch:

Loonie = 1″ (Or roughly 2.5 cm)

AA battery = 2″ (Or roughly 5 cm)

Sticky note = 3″ (Or roughly 8 cm)

Business card = 3.5″ long x 2″ high (Or roughly 9 cm x 5 cm)

Canadian $5 bill = 6″ long (Or roughly 15 cm)

Size 9 woman’s foot = 10″ (Or roughly 25 cm)

Penny = ¾″ (Or roughly 2 cm. Assuming you still have any lying around at the cottage.)
