Can branches from a neighbouring lot be trimmed if they extend onto your own property?

You are entitled to remove limbs trespassing on your land. But you can cut the branches only from the point where they cross the property line. Don’t fire up the chainsaw before talking to your neighbours; they may wish to prune the limbs themselves. If they don’t and won’t allow you to cut the branches, remind them of your rights, or ask a lawyer to write them a letter. But that’s a last resort.
