This beautifully designed house packs a lot of style into a small space

Despite its mere 26’ by 8.5’ footprint, this fits an array of features like a loft bedroom, living area with an electric fireplace and dine-in kitchen.

After a decade in the construction industry building spacious, family homes in Washington state, Matt Impola founded his own company that focuses on artistic, quality-made houses but on a much smaller scale—literally. Handcrafted Movement specializes in beautiful pint-sized houses, like this one, dubbed The Tiny Retreat. Despite its mere 26’ by 8.5’ footprint, the trailer packs in an array of features like a loft bedroom, living area with an electric fireplace, and a dine-in kitchen. On top of all this function, the space is decidedly stylish, too. With all white walls, bamboo hardwood flooring, and reclaimed walnut used throughout, the house is as chic as a country farmhouse.

On Handcrafted Movement’s website, Impola writes that “in a world of homogeneous overproduction, I strive to go against the grain and alter the natural materials as little possible. I’m equally interested in form and function, so strive to make beautiful objects that will work in the real world for years to come.” We agree—this tiny house is definitely a keeper for the long run.
