After approximately three weeks, the evacuation alert has been lifted for Monte Lake wildfire.

The area has been under evacuation since July 26th of this year and it had included some areas of Highway 97, Kristianson Road, Paxton Valley Road, Strong Road, and Westlund Road.

The Monte Lake fire that started off as a grass blaze eventually grew up to be 150 hectors in size—destroying one home in the process.

Crews have been working tirelessly since the event to minimize damage
