In this hilarious video taken in Tuscarora State Park, Pennsylvania, a black bear shows us what it thinks of the best-laid plans of mice and men. Casually scratching its back against a tree, it then reaches into a live trap, grabs a donut that was used for bait, and escapes with ease.
Black bears are extremely agile, able to run at speeds up to 30 miles per hour, climb trees, and even scale sheer rock faces!
While most black bears are shy and avoid humans, they have been known to attack when their cubs are threatened or they are starved for food. It’s always a good idea to give these giants of the woods plenty of room, and report them to wildlife officials if you see one acting erratically.
