We’ve all enjoyed the guilty pleasure of scrawling “wash me” on a dirty windshield, but San Antonio artist Scott Wade is taking it to the next level. Wade recalls the dirt road leading to his abode in Central Texas, and how over 20 years of accumulating dirt and grime on his car windows, began to experiment with turning the muck into something more.
Wade leans toward landscapes in his work, as well as pop culture icons and familiar masterpieces such as the Mona Lisa. His work has generated such regard that he’s been hired to produce commercial advertisements and work for special events. Who knew skipping the carwash could be so profitable?
