Black bear proves hammocks aren’t just for humans

In rural areas, black bears are not exactly uncommon, occasionally rooting through trash bins in search of food.

But this might be the first bear to help itself to the hammock.

This picture was taken in the backyard of Vincent James, a local homeowner in Daytona Beach, Florida.

James told a news station that “He got in the hammock like he was a tourist or something, then something spooked him and he ran right back there.”

Ultimately, James took down the hammock, because “half an hour later I come back and I saw there he is in the hammock again.”

The bear continues to be sighted in the neighbourhood, and local residents are urged to stay clear of the animal and report its whereabouts to animal control when spotted.
