It’s common knowledge that black bears are exceptional climbers. And when you can easily shimmy up off the ground, why wouldn’t you relax up there, away from all the other animals?
This black bear, however, has chosen a fairly dangerous place to catch 40 winks, a hydro pole near Shellbrook, Saskatchewan, about 150 kilometres north of Saskatoon.
Unfortunately, the bear has no way of understanding the extreme jeopardy of its current position. And finding out through a shock may be fatal.
If you see a bear in a similar situation, it is always a good idea to check in with local wildlife control.
Hopefully this tired fellow made it back to the ground safely.
