JoAnn Rainboldt was relaxing in her home in Anchorage, Alaska when she spotted a curious lynx exploring her deck, unaware that it was being observed. Lynx are very shy animals, so catching a glimpse of one, much less a video, is a sight to behold.
Lynx are generally even-tempered, shy animals, and it’s always wise to admire them from afar—or from behind a wall as Rainboldt did.
You’ll notice that lynx have very large paws in proportion to the rest of their body. These are meant to keep them from sinking into snow as they hunt their favourite prey, the elusive snowshoe hare.
