What happens when a fireworks truck hits a moose?

Last Friday, a rural area in Northern Ontario got a huge and unexpected fireworks show.

In the early morning hours, a truck transporting fireworks along the Trans Canada Highway near Wawa, Ontario, hit a moose. The collision ruptured the truck’s fuel tanks causing a massive explosion that shut down the highway for more than five hours.

Luckily, the truck’s driver and passenger managed to escape the fiery vehicle unharmed. The blaze, however, was a little difficult to control, as the firefighters had to dodge fireworks shooting out of the vehicle as they tried to put it out.

While the fireworks show lacked much of an audience, the Wawa News captured a bit of it on video.
