Ever had an obnoxious neighbour move in and wish you could just up and move your cottage?
Moving an entire structure without the help of machines sounds like an impossible task, but for a traditionally tight-knit Amish community? No problem.
Rather than disassemble the building or use heavy machinery, half the town just shows up and lifts. It’s mesmerizing to watch the dozens of feet shuffle along and reposition the house, even pivoting it into place.
While the volunteers appear to pull off the relocation with minimal damage to the house, this is a dangerous strategy, as a few wrong moves can seriously damage the structural integrity of the building.
Have you ever needed to move a shed, house, or cottage? How did you do it?
