Watch a laid-back seal laze around in a dinghy

Everyone needs a break sometimes—a life lesson that one seal took to heart when it decided to jump onboard a dinghy and take a snooze. In fact, the only thing missing from this relaxing scene is a beer in his flipper.

The seal, who has been dubbed “Sammy” by the locals, looks utterly at ease in the human vessel, and he’s also completely unperturbed by his admirers filming from nearby. The video was posted on the Facebook page for Copeland Islands (a group of islands in the north Irish Sea), and commenters seemed familiar with Sammy, indicating that likely he’s a regular in the area. “That seal again!!!” the caption for the video reads.

Seals are considered semi-aquatic, which means they spend part of their lives in the water and part on land. They usually leave the water to dry off or warm up, so it’s likely that this seal’s goal in entering the dinghy really was just some good old RnR.

So let’s all take some summer inspiration from Sammy the seal and remember to make the most of our sunny days—and our flotation devices.
