Blackberry Apple Crisp
- 2 1/2 lbs apples, peeled, quartered, cored, and sliced (1.25 kg)
- 1 pint ripe blackberries
- 1/4 cup - 1/3 cup white sugar (60–75 ml)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (2 ml)
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice (15 ml)
- 1/2 tsp grated lemon zest (2 ml)
- Caramel Pecan Topping (recipe follows)
Caramel Pecan Topping
- 1 cup flour (250 ml)
- 3 tbsp dark brown sugar (45 ml)
- 1 tbsp white sugar (15 ml)
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon (1 ml)
- pinch salt
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cut in pieces (125 ml)
- 1/2 cup pecan pieces, toasted (125 ml)
