How to tie a trucker’s hitch

Use this simple knot to secure everything from car-top canoes to trailer-loads of brush

5. Finishing the knot

Pass the loose end around the anchor point again for extra strength and secure it with a couple of half-hitches at the cinching point. A slipped half-hitch will make the knot easier to untie but more prone to sudden failure.
