Easy door headboard
I’ve always liked the idea of making a headboard from a door, and think it’s a simple solution for a cottage, where you don’t want to spend tons on a bed. Peninsula Lake cottager Debbie Court’s daughter, Whitney, recently sent me photos of their version, an idea Debbie got from a friend.
Using a door from the Court’s original 1915 cottage, Debbie had it cut to width, repainted, and mounted to the wall with bolts. Plastic spacers hold the door a few inches from the wall, and the bed just sits underneath, unattached.
What I love is that Debbie has left the porcelain doorknob in place – a detail she says she couldn’t bear to part with.
