Hey Martin. Like to see the pic you have of the corn roasting is complete with the silks on. It seems 9 times out of 10 that BBQ recipes for corn says to remove the silk. But that is such a bother and then the husk is also open unless you tie it up. I learned long time ago to soak the corn in a pail or bag of cold water for at least an hour. Then put the corn onto the grill with indirect heat for about an hour. The outside will start to char but because the corn was soaked, the kernels are steamed and will be tender. Works as well on those not so fresh cobs. The other plus is once you cut off the husks, the silk almost comes off in one piece. DH cuts off the end of the corn and just peels the husk and silk off and pops them into the special corn holders with a bit of butter. mmmmm good.
