Lazy man’s sangria: Kalimotxo recipe

Now, to answer your questions–yes, it’s a real drink, popular in Spain, and yes, it’s actually quite good. “Kalimotxo” is the Basque spelling; “Calimocho,” the Spanish spelling, is a little easier to remember, but not as much fun. It’s an easy way to use a bottle of plonk, much better than a cocktail two friends invented: Wineken. That combination of white wine and Heineken never took off, even though they tried to help it go viral by ordering it in bars and pretending the bartender ought to know how to make it.
