Scare your kids this weekend
A new app with ghost stories to tell around the campfire
Planning a campfire this weekend? This new app from Coleman has scary stories to read around the campfire. (Bonus: you won’t need a flashlight, though I’m not sure whether the glow from your iphone under-lighting your face will give the same ghoulish effect.)
It has stories rated for kids, teens and adults—so ease into it if you have little ears with big imaginations around your fire. (One 13-year-old reviewing the app said the stories in the adult category gave him nightmares for 3 days, though he did sound pleased about it…) Start in with the kids’ tales to gauge how your audience responds. Check it out here, and let me know what you think.
If you’re going old-school and just telling stories, try to work in a Dementor or two for the Harry Potter fans out there!
Have a great weekend, and don’t forget the marshmallows!

Will give this a try. I usually just make them up as I go along. Making sure I add lots of spooky wind noises.... the stories always start with " It was a dark cold and stormy night, and the wind was howling outside our window .... "
