Show off your style with a gallery wall
Last week, I wrote about a neat-o dog bed from the blog sarah.wandering. Now, I don’t want to lavish too much praise on another style website, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t share another project from that page. Sarah has done a great job building a unique gallery wall in her apartment:
Cottages really are the ideal place for this kind of decor. At the lake we’re more relaxed, and we take ourselves, and our decor, less seriously. We can have a little fun. And it’s easy to go wild with a gallery wall. What Sarah has done here is a great example of that. She’s framed unusual items, including not just posters and photographs, but also more unusual stuff: old Ontario license plates (who has one of those in the shed?) and even a laid-out sewing kit. Our gallery wall is a touch more traditional than this, but goes a long way towards commemorating special memories and life landmarks: a photo of my father’s old convertible, a funny rhyming poem about our place written by some visitors, even an autographed photo of Wayne Gretzky (we’re big hockey fans). The wall shows off who we are, and gives our cottage the kind of character that makes it a home.
Thanks for the inspiration Sarah!
