How to avoid eggshells in your eggs

Many cooks know if a shard of eggshell falls in the bowl the best tool for lifting it out is another larger piece of the shell. Better to avoid the problem in the first place. If you use a knife or other narrow edge to crack the egg, small pieces are likely to break off the edge. Use something blunt instead—the edge of the bowl, the countertop, or another egg.
